Cabinet - a classic design
This medium size cabinet is made from choised and well grained elm wood. It is made in a very classic design and signals the strongness of simplicity and pure lines.
The cabinet is preserved in its original conditions - the original olivegreen lacquer inner surface in the cabinet as well as in its drawers make this piece of furniture very attractive. Also the original dark lacquered surface on the backside of the cabinet underline the authenticy and undesturbed genuinity of of the cabinet. The metal lock is original.
A number of cabinets of this size and approximately of this design has survived, but most of them has undergone serious alterations. Furthermore the major part af cabinets of this desirable size is of the tapered type - only a few are of the straight square corner type as this one.
The measures of the cabinet are: 93 cm wide, 46 cm deep, and 145½ cm high. It dates to the early Qing period.
It is ramarkable how the number of profiles along the design lines emphasizes the elegance of the cabinet.
A super classical piece of furnniture in a very usable size - a pleasure to enjoy.
